Last week, we were lucky, we lost no major characters during The Walking Dead Season 4, Episode 3: “Isolation”. We were kind of hoping that the walker-only death trend would continue into this week, Season 4, Episode 4: “Indifference”, but we weren’t so lucky.

In the aftermath of Carol Peletier (Melissa McBride) double-murder reveal, things were already tense for Team Prison, and when Carol and Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) took off on their own medicine run, we knew we were in for a crazy ride.

Things started off calmly enough, and our diabolical duo even made it to a house where they raided the medicine cabinet and found two hungry young people, Ana and Sam. Ana had an interesting tattoo on her ankle, which she said was from the refugee camp she came from.

Ana and Sam agreed to meet up with Carol and Rick later, but while examining the area around the house, Rick found part of Ana’s severed leg, tat and all. The rest of what was presumably her body was feet away, acting as a snack for ravenous walkers. RIP, girl.

Sam’s whereabouts are unknown, which is always dangerous on this show, but we were more shocked by Rick’s decision to kick Carol out of the group for what she did. Team Prison without Carol?! We can’t even imagine it.

Carol took the news easier than we thought (though she did ask to take Lizzie and Mika with her) and packed up her car and left. Not exactly a death, but it has a similar effect...at least for now.

Are you shocked by Rick’s decision? Vote below!

The Walking Dead airs Sunday nights at 9 p.m. ET on AMC.
