Someone is/was feeding the walkers rats at the prison’s (now partially crumbled) fence, and we still have no idea who is responsible for keeping the undead well fed. At first we’d theorized that maybe little Lizzie was bringing rodents to the walkers (she did have that odd fascination with her zombie buddy Nick), but now that we’ve caught a glimpse of The Governor (David Morrissey) creepin’ around the outside of the prison, we’re thinking he’s at least partially responsible.

There’s also been a ton of speculation that prison newbie Bob Stookey (Larry Gilliard Jr.) is somehow working as a mole for The Gov., meaning he could also be our walker feeder.

The Hollywood Reporter chatted with Steven Yeun (Glenn Rhee) in anticipation of Season 4, Episode 5: “Internment”, and when the interviewer asked Steven if The Governor could be the one feeding the walkers with some inside help from Bob, he had an interesting response. “I don't think that would be wrong; that would definitely be a possibility. Every angle is a possibility on this show. You just never know.”

TWD is notorious for throwing viewers some massive curveballs, so we totally understand where Steven is coming from.

Speaking specifically about Bob, Steven continued, “We don't know that much about Bob and all the new people that we encounter. What's interesting is there is still so much heart in this group. We still extend our hand to others even though we've been burned so many times. That is the resonance of the humanity that still exists in these people that might not exist in the people outside of this group.”

Team Prison (Carol and her murderous tendencies aside) is loaded with humanity (largely thanks to Hershel and others) but we wouldn’t be surprised if that got them into trouble sooner or later. If Bob is a mole, than their kind nature has already put them in jeopardy even though they don’t know it yet.

It’s entirely possible that a third party we haven’t mentioned or even met yet is feeding the walkers, but nothing has been confirmed.

Do you think The Gov. is giving the walkers their snacks, or is someone else to blame? Vote below!

The Walking Dead airs Sunday nights at 9 p.m. ET on AMC.
