We’ve already made it known that we’re ready for some meaty storylines involving Beth Greene, in large part because her portrayer, Emily Kinney, is so damn talented! Ems joined TWD back in Season 2, and while her acting chops are nothing to sneeze at (remember when she tried to kill herself?) we’re especially partial to Ems’ gorgeous voice.

During her time on TWD Emily (as Beth) has put her musical talents to good use quite a few times, singing hymns, haunting lullabies to Baby Judith, and more. Turns out Emily is a singer off-screen as well, and she recently released a new EP, titled “Expired Love”.

The singer-actress also chatted with Atlanta Music Guide about her experiences with music, including a sweet story about the first concert she ever attended. She dished, “The first concert I ever saw was the Spin Doctors. I was really little, I think even only like 10 or something… My older sister let me tag along. I ditched my sister and her boyfriend and pushed my way to the very front row.”

Ems remembers the experience fondly, and it even influenced her music tastes. “After that I was a huge Spin Doctors fan. You know what’s funny? I just heard ‘Two Princes’ in the car this morning. It made me happy,” she concluded.

As for her own music career, Emily also opened up about what her perfect gig would be like, noting, “I think it could be fun to go back to Nebraska and play a show. I don’t even know enough to know where I should want to play most. I want to play everywhere. I want to play where there are lots of people who will like the songs I write.” Sounds pretty solid to us!

And for all you southerners, Emily has a show on November 25 at 7:30 p.m. ET at Eddie’s Attic in Georgia. Get your tickets here!
