Playing The Governor on AMC’s The Walking Dead for the past two years has meant that David Morrissey inspires fear both on and off your television screen. On TWD The Gov. is feared by Team Prison and anyone else who managed to survive his Woodbury bloodbath at the end of Season 3. Anyone who is unhinged enough to turn on and kill his own people is worth being feared in our book.

Off-screen David has relished in the fact that he gets recognized in public, and is often chastised by fans for his villainous role. Recalling the time he was booed at Comic Con last summer, David revealed, “Ten thousand people started booing me and I just loved it. I walked to the front of the stage and did a Liam Gallagher pose in the sense of 'bring it on!' and the boos went higher and higher. I've never been booed with such affection in my life.”

So when the British actor stopped The Ellen DeGeneres Show last week, the comedian decided to have some fun at her guest’s expense. Ellen often likes to frighten her guests, and the clip below shows David getting a little scare during his chat with her — just as she’s asking him if he gets easily startled! Sure it’s not the nicest thing to do, but it’s pretty funny.

Do you think David scares easily? Watch the clip below to find out!

The Walking Dead airs Sunday nights at 9 p.m. ET on AMC.
