UPDATE: Looks like we finally have some answers about Tara Chambler (Alanna Masterson)'s whereabouts! She had stayed at the Prison, locking herself up behind a gate to sulk away from the hungry mouths of walkers. By the end of Season 4, Episode 10, "Inmates," though, Glenn Rhee (Steven Yeun) had found her, and the two left the Prison together!

The pair were just outside the prison, killing walkers, when they ran into Abraham Ford. When last we saw them, the characters were all making introductions! Given that Abraham is a major character in the comic books, we're expecting some major Tara-related plot developments as the rest of Season 4 progresses.

Original Story, December 1:

The Season 4 mid-season finale ended in chaos, with the surviving characters separated and scattered to parts unknown. One survivor new to Season 4, Tara Chambler (Alanna Masterson), seems poised to play a major role in Season 4b. But where did she go after the epic battle between The Governor's crew and the Prison?

Out of The Governor's whole crew, Tara seemed the most visibly shaken by his violent actions against Team Prison, so she hid away from the action before finally hightailing it away from the gunfire. Before she left, she had a heartfelt check-in with her girlfriend Alisha, who said she'd find her wherever she ended up. Unfortunately, Alisha didn't see the end of the episode, and was shot by badass child Lizzie Samuels (Brighton Sharbino). Tara, though, appears to have survived.

We're not sure where Tara went any more than we're sure where Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus) or Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) ended up. We can, however, speculate.

Tara doesn't have a direct comic book counterpart, so we can't turn to the series for a whole lot of wisdom. It's possible that she ended up in one of the comic locations we haven't seen yet, though.

WARNING: spoilers from The Walking Dead comic are ahead, which may or may not correspond to the TV series.

There is another Tara in the comic book series, and it's possible that the TV Tara is a composite character that draws from the comic character. In the comics, Tara is a member of the group The Saviors, presumed to be an offshoot of the Hilltop Colony. In the TV series, we haven't been introduced to either of these groups yet, but with Team Prison disbanded, we're on the lookout. They're nearby the Alexandria Safe-Zone in Alexandria, Virginia, which plays a major role in the comic series.

As a member of The Saviors, comic book Tara is at odds with the Hilltop Colony. She's a relatively minor character, and her biggest moment in the spotlight comes when she threatens to cut off a Hilltop leader's testicles. That doesn't really seem like TV Tara's scene, but as we've learned, living in the Apocalypse makes folks do things they never dreamed they'd be capable of before.

Realistically, we can see Tara meeting up with one of the Team Prison survivors and maybe forming a shaky alliance before anyone even crosses a state border. Regardless of where she goes, sadly, we just know she's not meeting back up with Alisha.
