Screw Seahawks vs. Broncos — it's almost time for Humans vs. Walkers in The Walking Dead’s inaugural Zombie Bowl!

As part of its ingenious counter-programming, AMC is airing a marathon of The Walking Dead Season 1 and Season 2 on Sunday, February 2, aka Super Bowl Sunday.

The marathon starts at 10 a.m. and continues into Monday, February 3.

As AMC put it, "Fans of The Walking Dead, TV's #1 non-sports show, won't be left out on one of television's biggest nights of the year. Every Humans vs. Walkers moment from The Walking Dead's season one and two will run in a marathon all the way through the big game. Fans looking to be part of the action will have a full day and night of zombie hits and tackles so they can catch up on early episodes before the midseason premiere on February 9th." Nice.

There's even a clever Zombie Bowl promo (watch it below), showing Shane (Jon Bernthal) giving a quarterback-worthy pep talk and Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus) showing off his trash-talking skills. If only we could see them in uniform...

Don't forget, there's a second half to the marathon the following weekend. It's just Season 1 and Season 2 replaying on Super Bowl Sunday and Monday, but the next weekend AMC will re-air Season 3 and Season 4, starting at 2 p.m. on Saturday, February 8. More details here.

Where do you stand? Will you join the AMC cheerleading squad and watch The Walking Dead during any of Super Bowl Sunday, or is that a pure football day and you just have to sit this particular marathon out?

The Walking Dead Season 4 returns with Episode 9 on Sunday, February 9 at 9 p.m. ET on AMC.
