Saturday was Christmas morning for Xbox users, since The Walking Dead Season 4, Episode 9, “After,” went live on Xbox Video for free — even though the mid-season premiere’s world debut was meant to be tonight, Sunday, February 9 at 9 p.m. ET on AMC. Oops.

Fans on Reddit quickly spread the news so other Xbox users could jump in before the mistake was corrected. Now any attempts to download the episode give you an error code.

AMC and TWD producers can’t be happy about the leak, but — on the upside — the Reddit reviews were pretty positive. One wrote, “Watched it! Great episode. Thanks OP!” Other fans asked if the episode was slow, since some magazine and outlet reviews had suggested it was a less-than-thrilling episode. "It's not slow at all,” one fan wrote. “Good suspense, great acting, great character development, and the best last line of an episode yet."

Fans have been posting scenes from Episode 9 on YouTube, including the final scene with that last line. Some of the videos have been quickly removed, though, "due to a copyright claim by Rainbow Media Holdings LLC." Others are still up, as of Sunday morning, and some look to just be filmed shots of the users own sets.

TWD Season 4 saw record-breaking ratings for its first half in 2013, and it’s probably going to continue the streak into 2014, despite this little glitch. The Walking Dead was already one of the most pirated shows on TV, and even though the execs don’t like it, it doesn’t seem to be hurting them on the viewer/ratings front.

Are you tempted to check out scenes from Episode 9 online or are you happy to wait and watch the full product as it was meant to be seen on TV? Do you think someone is going to get in trouble for this Xbox leak?

The Walking Dead Season 4 returns with Episode 9 on Sunday, February 9 at 9 p.m. ET on AMC.
