Season 4, Episode 9: “After” was a solid start to second half of The Walking Dead’s fourth Season. Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) passed out cold as he was recovering from his injuries, his son, Carl Grimes (Chandler Riggs), was convinced he didn’t need his dear old dad to protect him, (though he recanted that statement when he thought Rick was dead) and we finally saw Michonne (Danai Gurira) as a mother.

In next Sunday’s Episode 10, it looks like we’ll vere away from that trio and get a chance to see some other familiar faces. Among them, Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus) and Beth Greene (Emily Kinney). In the sneak peek below Daryl and Beth have built themselves a nice little fire and seem to be sitting in silence until Beth gets restless.

“We should do something,” she begins earnestly. “We aren’t the only survivors.”

We’re used to seeing Daryl leap into action and rush to help those he loves and cares about (remember how long he looked for Sofia?) but this time he seems to be out of hope. Even as Beth makes the valid point that others — like her sister Maggie Greene (Lauren Cohan) — may have survived, Daryl remains unresponsive. We didn’t think Daryl could look so great just sitting there, but — spoiler alert! — he does.

Check out the Daryl and Beth sneak peek below!

The Walking Dead airs Sunday nights at 9 p.m. ET on AMC.
