Carol Peletier (Melissa McBride) hasn’t been seen since Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) exiled her from Team Prison on The Walking Dead Season 4, Episode 4. But it’s now the second half of the season and fans were recently told “Carol may pop up before you know it.”

Maybe this very week? Episode 10, “Inmates,” will focus on four mini groups, including Tyreese (Chad Coleman), Lizzie Samuels (Brighton Sharbino) and Mika Samuels (Kyla Kenedy).

A while back, fans in Georgia said they saw Chad and Melissa on set with babies, which would imply that Carol connects with Ty and the girls (including baby Judith). Even if no one had seen them together, it would make sense to have their stories intertwine since there’s so much potential drama there. Tyreese doesn’t know about Carol’s role in the Karen/David murders, but he’ll find out at some point. And Lizzie did just save his life when she shot Alisha at the prison; showrunner Scott Gimple previously said that shot would be part of a larger story involving Carol.

Back to Rick for a second, though. Papa Grimes knows what Carol told him about killing Karen and David, and he also told Maggie Greene (Lauren Cohan) and Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus). At this point, they are the only ones who know (or think they know?) what happened. A bunch of cast members talked up the new season in TV Guide, and Scott discussed what’s next for Carol. He didn’t say anything about how Carol would return, but he added, “The events are going to change her and Rick.”

What do you think he meant by that? Will their dynamic change — as in, will they become friends again? Will something happen — maybe there’s more truth to the Karen/David story than we know, or maybe Rick will decide he can accept what Carol did, especially if Tyreese eventually accepts it too?

Maybe the change will involve baby Judith — if Carol helped to keep the baby safe, Rick will be so surprised, relieved and grateful, he won’t be able to be mad at Carol. (We’re dying to see the Grimes family reunited, especially if it brings Carol back into the fold!)

And what about Daryl? Even if you don’t ‘ship “Caryl,” you can’t deny that Carol and Daryl have a close friendship. As of Episode 10, Daryl appears to think he and Beth Greene (Emily Kinney) are the only Team Prison survivors, but he has to know Carol is still out there, and believe that she may have made it. Norman Reedus also shared his thoughts on an eventual Carol/Daryl reunion. "I think he'll be very happy to see her again,” Norman told TV Guide. “He still has Rick's back, but he's not done talking about it. You never really get a chance to process grief, and some things may happen where arguments ensue." Arguments? Not between our bromance buddies!

Are you curious to see how the Carol return plays out? How will Tyreese react when he learns the truth? How will Rick and Carol react if they see each other again? What if Carol is the one who first shows Rick that Judith is alive? The feels!
