Seeing as how this Sunday’s episode of The Walking Dead is (presumably) all about Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus) and Beth Greene (Emily Kinney), many fans have wondered if this means we should prepare to say goodbye to one of them, since TWD has an unspoken tradition of giving characters focused episodes before filling them off.

We’re fairly certain that Daryl is safe at least for the remainder of the season, but we’re less confident that Beth survives. Emily Kinney appeared on KTLA earlier this week to discuss TWD and her music career, and she opened up about what it’s like being on a show in which you can die at any moment.

“It’s a hard thing to figure out how to do, but there’s a phone call that happens from the showrunner, but still you’re nervous,” she said when asked about how cast members are notified that their characters will die.

“I feel like we’re just always kind of in fear,” Emily continued with a laugh when asked if people are prepared for their character’s demise. “It works for your character, you’re sort of always a little nervous about what’s around the corner so you have to kind of enjoy it.”

Obviously Emily didn’t spill anything about Beth’s fate, but she did open up about the cast’s “death dinners,” which she described as “kind of like a birthday party only really sad.” As can be expected, during the dinners the cast “says things we remember about each other, moments we’ve had together.”

Since Scott Wilson (Hershel Greene) had a death dinner of his own before his character died in the Season 4 midseason finale, we’re holding out hope that a second member of the Greene family will be spared in the back half, though we can never be so sure.

Do you think Beth will die in the final five episodes of Season 4? Check out the clip below and feel free to share your thoughts and theories!
