The cast of The Walking Dead may not be the most recognizable group on TV today (a travesty as far as we’re concerned!), but there’s no denying that the TWD guys and gals are a particularly talented bunch, and their expertise go far beyond what they are able to do in front of a camera.

Norman Reedus (Daryl Dixon) recently told us about his amature tennis career and Danai Gurira (Michonne) is a skilled playwright, but that’s just the beginning of what else this gifted cast can do. The latest TWD cast member making waves is none other than Steven Yeun (Glenn Rhee) who just recently opened an L.A. restaurant with his brother, Brian Yeun.

Steven and Brian opened The Bun Shop a Korean-Mediterranean fusion joint in the Koreatown section of Los Angeles last month, and the place is already getting some great buzz. LAist.com reports that the the restaurant is an extension of The Bun Truck that Brian started driving three years ago. Steven is an investor in the restaurant while former New York Morimoto chef, James Seok (a friend of Brian’s), is a partner.

“Perks are delicious free food," Steven tells the site. "For me, how I saw it was that my brother and I are really tight and I really wanted to invest in his entrepreneurship.” In addition to the delicious food, Steven says the restaurant has a “homey vibe” designed to make patrons feel comfortable. “It’s all from our upbringing," Steven notes. "We’re from Metro Detroit area so there’s this feeling of blue collar, simple, clean meals with a little zest of edginess that Detroit brings. It’s a very Detroit, Michigan mentality. Being Korean, all of us are Korean, there’s a soul to that that we definitely tap into.”

As for the fare, which LAist was lucky enough to sample, the establishment serves up something called a Beefy bun with with Korean-marinated beef, accompanied with a tempura fried onion and aioli, among a variety of other savory dishes. If you have a sweet tooth, fear not, because The Bun Shop also has deep-fried Oreos topped with green tea ice cream and a custard bun on a bed of popcorn and salted caramel on the menu. Yum!

And if you’re hoping for a Walking Dead star sighting, Steven mentions that a few of his co-stars have already been by to show their support, though he plans to have a grand opening party once the restaurant obtains a liquor license in the coming months.

Will you be heading over to The Bun Shop for some good eats and a possible star sighting? Tell us your plans in the comments below!
