Those train tracks are The Walking Dead Season 4’s own yellow brick road. We just don’t know where they’re going — and the words “Sanctuary” and “Terminus” are both enticing and unnerving.

Still, all roads seem to lead to Terminus eventually, maybe even for Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus) and Beth Greene (Emily Kinney) who left the tracks behind back on Episode 10 when they seemed to walk in the opposite direction from Carol Peletier (Melissa McBride) and company. Daryl and Beth just went on an Episode 12 booze run, but now that they’ve successfully gotten drunk and set a massive fire in the woods (whyyyyyy?) maybe they can literally get on track with most of the other groups.

The Hollywood Reporter asked Norman Reedus if Daryl and Beth could stumble on the Terminus map, since they really aren’t too far away from the others. THR also asked if the sanctuary could be a trap, maybe even related to The Hunters cannibal storyline from the comics.

“We don't know,” Norman answered, since that’s all he can really say without giving a spoiler. “They're always looking for hope so they will continue looking. They can't go back to where they were. That's what's good about the show: It's constantly moving and constantly changing. It's not a lawyer show; it's not a buddy-buddy drama in an apartment building. It's a constantly moving and adapting show and it's fun to move with it.” Norman said Daryl and Beth don’t know where they’re going, but Episode 12 ended with hope, giving them “a little spring in their step at the end.” That’ll never last!

The many Team Prison storylines keep getting close to crossing, but maybe Episode 13 will give us some connection. Another group that still hasn’t seen the Terminus sign is Maggie Greene (Lauren Cohan), Bob Stookey (Larry Gilliard Jr.) and Sasha (Sonequa Martin-Green). The promo for Episode 13 showed Beth and Daryl back in action, but also (separately) Maggie’s group fighting off walkers in a heavy fog. It would be nice for someone to swoop in and save them, since Sasha said they only had six bullets left and they were surrounded. Maybe Glenn’s group or even Daryl and Beth could jump in to help?

Do you think Daryl and/or Beth will find the Terminus sign? What about Maggie’s group, will they? Do you think the two storylines (or any of the mini groups) will meet next week or stay apart? The synopsis for next week’s ep says “one group finds a shelter,” so that at least sounds promising for someone … then again, the episode is also called “Alone.”

The Walking Dead Season 4 airs Sundays at 9 p.m. ET on AMC.
