Beth Greene (Emily Kinney) may have been super thankful that she was at least able to pick up a new shirt during her trip to the country club, but in real life the actress who plays The Walking Dead character, Emily Kinney, is always well-dressed and adorable. So when we saw that the 28-year-old Nebraska native was on the cover of Bleep magazine’s most recent issue, we weren’t all that surprised.

On the cover Ems wears her hair in a loose, braided updo and sports minimal makeup punctuated by the perfect bright red lip. In short, she looks plenty different from her television counterpart who is just trying to survive, but we’re not complaining!

Inside the mag Emily talks about her past gig in Spring Awakening on Broadway — she played Ana, though was not part of the original cast — and of course, TWD. Emily notes that while she loves working on the AMC hit, it can take a lot out of you. “There’s always this sense of survival and never knowing what’s around the corner,” she begins. “When you’re on set all day, you come home and find yourself feeling down. It’s emotionally draining. It’s great to be working and we all love our jobs, but it’s a heavy show.”

Something that isn’t as heavy, however, is Emily’s music. We’ve heard her sing (as Beth) a handful of times on TWD, but aside from the show Emily has her own solo music career and recently came out with an album, Expired Love, last year. She told Bleep that she also has plans to re-release the album in the coming months. “I’m adding a couple tracks, and at the time I was working a bunch and didn’t quite get to give the attention I deserved.”

We love that Emily plans to work more on her music now, but we can’t help but wonder if that means she’ll be off of TWD by the end of Season 4. We’ve already noted that the future isn’t looking great for Beth, and if Emily wants more time to work on her music than she’ll have to fit that in before Season 5 starts filming sometime in May.

Would you prefer Emily to work on her music, or stay on TWD? Tell us your thoughts below!

The Walking Dead Season 4 airs Sundays at 9 p.m. ET on AMC.
