What an uncharacteristically episode of The Walking Dead! In Season 4, Episode 15: "Us," no major characters died, Glenn Rhee (Steven Yeun) and Maggie Greene (Lauren Cohan) reunited, and Eugene Porter (Josh McDermitt) learned the true meaning of friendship, or something. So it only makes sense that a hopeful, comforting song would play as a significant portion of the gang reaches Terminus: "Be Not So Fearful" by English singer/songwriter Bill Fay.
If this tune sounds familiar, it could be because it's been around for a while — it first appeared on the artist's 1970 self-titled album, which was re-released in 2005. You may have also heard one of many covers of the song, including one by Wilco's Jeff Tweedy.
Bill gained a little career resurgence in 2012, when he released his first new material in about 40 years with his album Life Is People. NPR's All Songs Considered did a timely profile of the song "Be Not So Fearful" while eagerly anticipating the release — it's a good read if you want to hear more about Bill and this pretty song.
