At least one of The Marauders will have to look at the flowers on The Walking Dead Season 4 finale after putting a knife to the young pudding-lover's throat. We see part of the dark scene in a new promo from Philippines, showing the most evidence so far that the TV show is adapting the Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) vs. Marauders fight of The Walking Dead comics’ Issue #57.
*Comic book spoilers ahead*
In that issue, Rick, Carl, and Abraham hit the road for Rick's old hometown to get supplies and they're ambushed by bandits/The Marauders. The bandits try to rape Carl, to punish Rick, and even take off Carl's pants. Rick actually bites the neck of the guy holding him back, killing him. Rick says to leave The Marauder who tried to rape Carl unhurt, growling "He's mine." He chases the guy down and brutally kills him.
That seems to fit with this promo, which shows a very messed-up Rick growling, "He's mine." That's probably before he goes to town on the Marauder guy who put a knife to Carl’s throat (and did who knows what else). Maybe Rick gets brutal enough that it shocks Carl and Michonne (Danai Gurira), plus Rick himself. (Robert Kirkman said the Rick that comes out of Episode 16 will “shock people.”) Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus) will probably also be there, and he and Michonne may tag-team the role that Abraham had in the books.
Rick is meant to face sheer “brutality” in a “savage” finale, but the more we see of Ep 16 the more we think he’s the one dishing out the bulk of the savagery. Not that he doesn’t get beat up — you can see that he does, plus Carl has blood on his cheek and Daryl is shown with a black eye — but The Marauders may want to start claiming gravestones. Check out the promo below!
The Walking Dead Season 4 finale airs Sunday at 9 p.m. ET on AMC.
