"Termites" — is that what we’re calling the folks running Mary’s BBQ stand on The Walking Dead? Is that a way to avoid saying The Hunters?

Whatever you want to call the Terminus residents, they’re toast. Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) is going to see to that on Season 5. Rick 5.0 does not stand for any sass and his actor alter ego, Andy, seems to be taking on some of his swagger.

Entertainment Weekly talked to Andy about Rick’s Season 4 evolution from peace-loving Farmer Rick to Beast Mode Rick who will bite you to death if he has to. So yeah, the Termites should be afraid. “Oh, I don’t care what Scott Gimple has written — we’re improvising the first couple of episodes,” Andy joked to EW. “We’ve already said that those Termites — we’re just gonna kick their butts! Honestly, it is so good to be playing Rick again.”

You can tell Andy prefers playing Rick this way, as opposed to farming at the prison. Not that we don’t all mourn Violet the pig. (RIP.) In Rick, he continued, we can now see “a man totally accepting that side of himself, that brutality for the sake of his son. And it’s just a really neat play that you get a man who is completely at peace with the fact that he’s a man and a monster and he needs to be in this new world and he’s probably the most dangerous he’s ever been, but also the most capable he’s ever been. Which is why the final exchange is not anything but a call to arms. They have no idea who they’re dealing with.”

Yeah, think about who’s in that train car. It can’t be that easy to get out or Abraham (Michael Cudlitz) and Glenn (Steven Yeun) would’ve done it already. But with Rick in 5.0 mode, Carl (Chandler Riggs) ready to unleash his own monster, Daryl (Norman Reedus) ready to back his “brother,” plus Maggie (Lauren Cohan), Bob (Larry Gilliard Jr.), Sasha (Sonequa Martin-Green), Tara (Alanna Masterson), Rosita (Christian Serratos) and Eugene (Josh McDermitt)? And that’s not even counting Michonne (Danai Gurira), who could probably sort this whole thing out on her own.

They could get backup from Carol (Melissa McBride), Tyreese (Chad Coleman) or Beth (Emily Kinney), if they show up, but don’t forget about the stash of weapons Rick buried outside the Terminus fence “just in case.” If even one of them can get free… (Carl, do you have a weapon hidden under that hat?)

Showrunner Scott Gimple did say the first half of Season 5 would be like a “nuclear weapon,” so ... start yelling “timber,” everybody. As Andy put it to EW, “We’re gonna open up a can of whup-ass! I’m so excited. I just know it’s gonna go off! It’s so cool! I have no idea how we’re gonna get out of there, but when we do, we will rain hell upon these Termites!”
