It’s been less than two days since The Walking Dead Season 4 ended with a killer cliffhanger, and we’re already jonesing for any little tidbit of information we can get our hands on about the show’s upcoming fifth season. What can we say? We love TWD!

Luckily, the cast and crew of the AMC hit know how devoted we are to the show, so they love to throw us a bone every now and then. Take, for example, a recent tweet from executive producer Gale Anne Hurd. Just hours after the Season 4 finale, “A”, ended, Gale hopped on Twitter to give us something to look forward to. “In a month we start filming #Season5 of #TheWalkingDead — it will be so good to be back in Georgia with our awesome #TWDFamily cast & crew!,” she tweeted on March 30.

And Gale wasn’t even the only one dropping some Season 5 intel last Sunday. Showrunner Scott Gimple was on the March 30 episode of Talking Dead and he likened the first half of Season 5 to a “nuclear weapon”, though he also noted that the writers are still hard at work on the season’s scripts. “It’s incredibly exciting, it’s incredibly challenging, and next Season 5 it will be a whole new show again,” he went on to say.

Today, April 1, Gale went on to explain even more about how the TWD schedule works. When one Twitter follower wanted to know why the breaks between seasons are so long, Gale revealed that it actually takes a year to create one season of the show. “It takes us 7 months to film the series. Between writing and post production, we work 12 months a year,” she said.

Once Season 5 starts filming hopefully that means we will get even more info on what’s to come. Between the various tweets and Instagram photos we should have plenty to tide us over until October!
