Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) has had something of a biblical journey on The Walking Dead, and Andy was even recently asked about Rick’s Job-like suffering through trial after trial.

Rick is now at Terminus, and he may be his apocalypse family's biggest hope for survival through Season 5. Maybe this stunning new AMC poster — tweeted by the official TWD account the day after the Season 4 finale — ties into that hope, with faith and help from those who've gone before.

The poster shows Rick crouched down with his gun as (heavenly?) light shines on his back through what looks like a stained-glass window. The word "Survive" plays off the Terminus signs (“Those who arrive, survive”), and previous AMC posters, which asked “Who will arrive?” and “Who will survive?” the Season 4 finale.

Everyone in our group is still alive in that dark Terminus train car, and Carl Grimes (Chandler Riggs), Michonne (Danai Gurira), and Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus) made it past The Marauders in part because Rick unleashed the brutality that he had been suppressing but needed to tap into to save his family.

Rick is shown alone in this poster, perhaps hinting to the greater Rick focus in Season 5. He won't be stepping back as much anymore, and he was the one who got the final line of Season 4, vowing that the folks at Terminus were “screwing with the wrong people!"

The finale cut between the real-time drama with The Marauders and Terminus and flashbacks at the prison, with Hershel Greene (Scott Wilson) guiding Rick to a path of peace. Rick has had to veer from that path, but you could view this poster as the heavenly light of Hershel — and maybe Lori, and the other departed — shining down on Rick, watching his back and guiding him forward.

The image on the ground does seem like it's from a church, which maybe we could stretch to consider a Season 5 tease. Are Father Gabriel Stokes and his church entering the picture? Is it related to the black car with the white cross that "abducted” Beth Greene? Or the shrine in Terminus? Maybe it’s just showing Rick as warrior angel savior.

At any rate, it’s a great poster, and we’re relieved that Rick is not only aiming to “Survive,” he’s back in clear focus — right in the center of things, where he belongs.

The Walking Dead Season 5 premieres in October on AMC.
