Larry Gilliard Jr. (Bob Stookey) is relatively new to The Walking Dead family, having joined at the start of the show’s fourth season last October, but his turn on the AMC hit has already impacted his life in ways in ways he may not have ever expected. And no, we’re not talking about all of those bonds he’s likely formed with the TWD cast already, though those are important and should be treasured as well.

Instead we’re referring to some big news in the social media world, which no doubt has Larry very happy. After months of acquiring tons of new followers — likely, at least in part, because of his role on TWD — the former star of The Wire was finally verified on Twitter. Way to go, Lar!

The verification occurred some time over the last week or so, and we couldn’t be happier for Bob’s portrayer. Sure, his character may be a bit odd and still slightly suspect, but Larry has a very deep and true appreciation for his fans. He now has upwards of 24,000 Twitter followers (impressive!), and much of his timeline is loaded with grateful tweets he sent to his admirers.

Getting verified on Twitter can be a bit tricky, but we’re so glad the social media site finally gave Larry their ultimate seal of approval. In a happy coincidence, Larry’s former co-star Brighton Sharbino (Lizzie Samuels) was also recently verified. It’s truly a banner week for the TWD family!

Are you surprised that it took Larry so long to get verified on Twitter? Do you already follow him? Sound off below!

The Walking Dead Season 5 premieres in October 2014 on AMC.
