Credit: Christian Serratos on Instagram Photo: Most of The Walking Dead Cast Takes a Photo on Season 5 Set

The Walking Dead cast has long maintained that they’re a family, so now that they have been on set for Season 5 for about a week, we were pleased to get a new family portrait. It’s about time!

Relative newbie Christian Serratos (Rosita Espinosa) was one of the cast members to share the epic snap you see above on Instagram. She simply captioned it, “Familia.” We have no problem believing that this cast is like a family — just look at how happy they are to be together! — but some crucial members of the clan are conspicuously missing from this snap.

First, let’s start with who is in the picture. From left to right you have Andrew J. West (Gareth), Josh McDermitt (Dr. Eugene Porter), Alanna Masterson (Tara Chambler), Sonequa Martin-Green (Sasha), Danai Gurira (Michonne), showrunner extraordinaire Scott Gimple, Christian, and Lauren Cohan (Maggie Greene).

That’s a good chunk of the cast, don’t getting us wrong; but save for Andrew, Josh, and Scott, this photo is sorely lacking in fellas! Where are Norman Reedus (Daryl Dixon) and Andrew Lincoln (Rick Grimes)?! What about Chandler Riggs (Carl Grimes) or Larry Gilliard Jr. (Bob Stookey)?

Maybe the absent cast members were on set filming. If that’s the case, then it looks like our survivors definitely escape from the train car at the start of Season 5, since pretty much everyone in this snapshot was trapped in said car by the end of the Season 4 finale.

We gotta admit though, it’s a little unsettling to see Andrew mingling with the rest of the cast. He’s the enemy — or is he?!

And if you thought this photo was reminiscent of Ellen DeGeneres’ star-studded selfie at the 2014 Oscars, then you we’re the only one. Alanna shared the photo on her Instagram account and wrote, “Better than Ellen. #TWD #oscarSELFIE.”

What do you think of this photo? Should we be worried that several cast members are missing? Tell us how you feel below!
