What happened to Luke?
We met the young lad in the first episode of The Walking Dead Season 4 and last saw him on the mid-season finale. Beth Greene (Emily Kinney) mentioned Luke and Molly in the second half, but we have yet to see either of them. They are presumed dead, but ... you never know on this show.
The character of Luke is played by an actor with the same name, Luke Donaldson, who talked to The Walking Dead Interviews Wiki about his time on TWD.
Luke said he doesn't think he's allowed to talk about his own character's fate yet (those NDAs are iron-clad!) and he said the scripts never spelled out whether he and Molly were brother and sister from Woodbury or not related or what.
But he did echo what we keep hearing from others, that the cast and crew of the show are “so amazing because everyone is just SO nice and they make you feel like you’re a part of the family.” Luke added, “I remember all the different cast members coming up to me and introducing themselves to me on my first day and it made me feel so welcome there. Steven [Yeun] even recognized me from a Stone Mountain commercial that I did!”
Luke was asked for any interesting or funny stories from the set. “There are so many!” he said. “One time, during a break, crafty brought out stir fry and brown rice. By the time that Norman [Reedus] was able to eat, the plates were gone and there was not a lot of food left, so Norman just took the whole big tin of food and starting eating it with a fork! He tried getting me to think that he had eaten the entire thing of it which probably could have fed 50 people!”
It takes a lot of food to feed those muscles! Luke sounds like a big Norman Reedus (Daryl Dixon) fan. When asked which character he’d be most like if a zombie apocalypse were to happen, he answered, “Daryl Dixon!!!” A lot of us would hope to be like Daryl or Michonne in the apocalypse, even if most of us are closer to Milton or Beth.
Luke clearly had a great time on set and he’s super cute about his love for the show. “There is not one bad thing I could say about my experience with The Walking Dead,” he added. “I loved every single second that I was there and hope I can be a part of the cast forever!!!!!” Asked to sum up the experience in one word, he answered, “Aaaaaammmmmazzzzzziiiiiiinnnnngggg.”
Nice! TWD may not be the best show for kids to watch, but it has to be fun to shoot. Good luck to Luke, wherever he goes from here!
The Walking Dead Season 5 premieres in October on AMC.
