UPDATE: Here are more details on AMC's "Dead, White, and Blue" Fourth of July weekend marathon, which will include a Season 5 preview special and two cool documentaries!

Original story:

Yes! AMC is once again giving The Walking Dead fans an excuse to be shut-ins over Fourth of July weekend. If you’ve seen one fireworks display you’ve seen them all, but each episode of TWD is a unique snowflake and we never get tired of seeing them play out in marathons. Besides, Mary's BBQ > your neighbor's BBQ.

AMC has scheduled another marathon, starting on Friday, July 4, 2014. It's a full series run, beginning with Season 1, Episode 1, “Days Gone Bye,” at 9 a.m. ET. The marathon continues into Season 2 that night and keeps going all weekend until Season 4 finishes on the evening of Sunday, July 6. That makes it the first full series marathon to include Season 4 as well. We’re up for it!

There was recently a fan report saying AMC was planning a July 4 marathon themed “Dead, White and Blue.” This should be it, and we’ll have to wait to hear the official news from AMC, along with any extra details. But we can probably expect some Season 5 teases and behind the scenes footage to be included in this marathon, which is extra incentive to watch. AMC is good about rewarding the faithful viewers who put family first — The TWD Family!

The Walking Dead Season 5 premieres in October on AMC.
