We know Chris Hardwick best as the founder of Nerdist and the host of Talking Dead, but the 42-year-old comedian is about to branch out and lend his voice to a character in Tales from the Borderlands, Telltale Games' new episodic series which is scheduled to be released later this summer. Also voicing a character in Borderlands is Sam Witwer, who has lent his voice to various Star Wars games.

The Borderlands series is from the same developers as The Walking Dead games, and Chris and Sam are slated to voice best friends Vaughn and Rhys respectively. According to IGN.com, “ Vaughn and Rhys are employees of Hyperion –– the mega corporation featured prominently in Gearbox Software's Borderlands and Borderlands 2 –– and are exploring Pandora in search of another mysterious vault key.”

IGN also reports that Tales From the Borderlands’ story is expected to be told from two perspectives, one perspective being that of a con-artist named Fiona, and the second being Rhys’ point of view. In another interesting twist, the events of the story will also switch between two pre-determined times.

This is just the latest of Chris’ upcoming projects, which also includes All-Star Celebrity Bowling — an unscripted series in which stars compete and bowl for charity that was recently ordered by AMC — and of course, another season of Talking Dead, which will premiere directly after The Walking Dead once it returns for Season 5 sometime in October.

Are you surprised by Chris’ latest gig, or does it seem like a good fit for him? Tell us what you think below!

The Walking Dead Season 5 premieres in October 2014 on AMC.
