The Walking Dead is tops in our mind, and now we have yet another list confirming that the AMC drama is one of the greatest shows on television today. Earlier this week we told you about TWD’s Twitter dominance, but now it’s time to celebrate the show’s overall effect on the television landscape as one of the top 50 most-watched shows of the 2013-2014 television season.

The folks over at TV Guide have the full list, which tallies total viewership including seven days worth of DVR usage. Overall, TWD takes the fourth spot on the list with an impressive viewership of 18.3 million. It falls behind The Big Bang Theory (CBS) which had 23.1 million viewers, NCIS (CBS) which scored 22.4 million viewers, and Sunday Night Football (NBC) which brought in 21.7 million sets of eyes. Those programs took the No.1-No. 3 spots respectively.

However, TWD’s good news doesn’t end there. The post-apocalyptic drama may have placed fourth overall, but in the coveted 18-49 demo the AMC show killed the competition. See what we did there? Season 4 of TWD averaged and extremely impressive 12.2 million viewers in the demo, which is all the more impressive when you take into account that second-place Sunday Night Football only scored 10.2 million viewers in the same bracket.

We know we have several months to go before Season 5 debuts sometime in October, but we’re confident that TWD will have an even stronger showing in the 2014-2015 television season. Were you impressed with TWD’s placement, or had you expected it to rank even higher? Tell us your thoughts below!

The Walking Dead Season 5 premieres in October 2014 on AMC.
