The Walking Dead cast has been filming Season 5 of the hit show for about six weeks now, but we’re kind of growing frustrated with the lack of info coming out about the upcoming batch of episodes. Still, tidbits are coming out slowly, and in an interview with Goldderby.com Danai Gurira (Michonne) gave us some intersting teases of what’s to come.

Michonne went through a major transformation over the course of Season 4, and Danai explains in the video below that she loved being able to peel back the layers of her character. “I do love mass zombie slaying scenes, don't get me wrong," she said, "But I really love doing scenes with Andrew and with Chandler … and it was really liberating to just have her live in that other side of herself that she hasn't really allowed to be shown since before the [zombie apocalypse] happened.”

So what’s coming next?

Danai discusses her love of showrunner Scott Gimple’s “remix” approach to TWD — in which he takes parts of different storylines from the comics and makes them his own — and tells us to be on the lookout for more of that in Season 5. “We just shot something that does that again and it’s really awesome,” she said.

Greg Nicotero recently said that Season 5, Episode 1 has the scope and story of “an entire movie”, and Danai is quick to echo this sentiment, explaining, “There are astoundingly massive stories being told every week.”

“It's amazing what I'm witnessing, what we're getting done, and what I'm seeing my colleagues accomplish. It's kind of mind-blowing ... People will not be disappointed,” she continued. “It’s a very, very exciting season, it keeps you massively on your toes and it moves very quickly. People will not be able to predict much, I can’t predict much.”
