Follow that car!
The Walking Dead Season 5 is now filming in the Atlanta area, and the mystery of what happened to Beth Greene (Emily Kinney) has yet to be solved. As you will recall, we last saw her in Season 4, Episode 13, “Alone,” when Daryl ran into the dark street and saw a black car with a white cross on the back speed away, presumably with Beth.
It’s been tough to pin down whether actress Emily Kinney has been filming as Beth or not, but we have seen a priest on set, played by Seth Gilliam, which lends credence to the theory that the comic book character Father Gabriel Stokes will be introduced this season, and he may be the one who was driving the cross car.
That car was seen again this past week, although without the white cross (maybe that add that later?). As The Spoiling Dead Fans shared on June 13, "The vehicle that took off with Beth was brought in earlier. They appear to be filming from the roof." They added that a fan was able to take a photo, so here it is:
What’s up with the car? How are they using it? There was a car chase that was reportedly filmed back on May 22, but TSDF said it did not include the Beth vehicle. However, they did say one of the cars had a cross on the back. Is that like a gang logo or something? Eh.
Today (June 16) TWD seems to be filming back at the hospital location in Newnan, GA, and the site reported that “Lots of gunfire and yelling” were heard. A fan even shared a video so you can hear gunshot sounds from the set. Now all we need is Smell-O-Vision to make us feel like we’re really there!
Our minds are starting to spin about all this car stuff, Terminus already seeming out of the way, that house in Griffin, the hospital, the gunshots, the possible sonogram, the Beth car, Father Gabriel, etc. There are a lot of pieces to work with but we definitely don’t have the puzzle solved yet.
The Walking Dead Season 5 premieres in October on AMC.
