Here it is: The first time The Walking Dead fans can see Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln), Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus) and Abraham Ford (Michael Cudlitz) fight zombies side-by-side!

Except ... it’s in an awards show acceptance speech gag, not footage from TWD Season 5. But it’s still a great preview for the new season, since we’re expecting this alpha trio to see a lot of action together (and possibly clash every now and then). Of course, they have to get out of Terminus first. Rick and Daryl just met Abraham in the Season 4 finale, when they were trapped together in that train car. No exactly a rom-com meet-cute!

Anyway, TWD picked up several honors at the 2014 Saturn Awards, and special effects guru/director/producer/everything else Greg Nicotero received The George Pal Memorial Award.

Greg couldn’t attend the show in person, but they taped his acceptance speech from afar, with a great intro from Rick, Daryl and Abraham, taking down walkers to reclaim Greg’s trophy — passing it from one to the other, then to Greg himself.

Watch it all play out in Greg’s speech below. At one point he says, "I love that after 25 years of doing this I still feel the same way I felt the first time I walked on set." That’s the best job you can ask for! Congrats to him on a much-deserved honor. And obviously all acceptance speeches now need to be this cool.
