Here is, The Walking Dead’s big lineup for San Diego Comic-Con 2014. The cast and crew are now filming Season 5 and they should be about ready to shoot the mid-season finale (Episode 8) when they herd themselves over to Comic-Con, which runs from July 24-27.
AMC has already revealed that the first Season 5 trailer will premiere on Friday, July 25, and we’re constitutionally unable to get more excited about that than we already are. (Do you remember how awesome last year’s promo was? Epic!)
AMC just revealed details on its Comic-Con plans, and the TWD footprint will be large, as usual. (All times are Pacific/PT/San Diego time, unless noted.)
• The Walking Dead Comic-Con panel will be held from 12:20-1:20 p.m. PT (3:20-4:20 ET), on Friday, July 25 in Hall H. An autograph session will be held from 1:50-2:50 p.m. that same day, in Booth # 4237.
Here’s who will be appearing as panelists: Andrew Lincoln (Rick Grimes), Norman Reedus (Daryl Dixon), Steven Yeun (Glenn), Lauren Cohan (Maggie Greene), Danai Gurira(Michonne), Melissa McBride (Carol), Chad Coleman (Tyreese), Michael Cudlitz (Abraham), Executive Producer and Showrunner Scott Gimple, Executive Producer Gale Anne Hurd, Executive Producer Robert Kirkman, Executive Producer and Special Effects Make-up Supervisor Greg Nicotero and Executive Producer David Alpert. The panel will be moderated by Talking Dead host Chris Hardwick.
That’s not all, though. Skybound also listed its Comic-Con panels:
• "Skybound's The Walking Dead” will be held Thursday, July 24 from 4:15-5:15 p.m., featuring comic book writer Robert Kirkman and artist Charlie Adlard talking about the graphic novels.
• Also "Robert Kirkman Presents Skybound Entertainment Ft. Norman Reedus," which sounds like a hot new single, is being held Saturday, July 26 from 3 to 4 p.m. Robert Kirkman and producer David Alpert will discuss Skybound's journey into TV and film beyond TWD. The panel will include exclusive footage from Skybound's first feature film, Air, starring Norman Reedus. Norman will join the panel to discuss Air and what it was like to work with Kirkman outside TWD.
• Also "Robert Kirkman's Skybound Comics" is a panel being held Sunday, July 27 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., with Kirkman and Skybound writers and artists discussing their work and the changing landscape of comics.
So you have several chances to see Kirkman in action, if nothing else. (And that’s not nothing!) More details will probably pop up as the dates get closer. If you can’t make Comic-Con, never fear. Not only will we get to see the big trailer the same day as the main TWD panel, we should also get tons of information out of it (Season 5 premiere date? episode titles?), pretty shortly after it’s shared, and then we’ll discuss what it all means.
It’s not as cool as being there in person to meet the cast and crew, but we’ll make do!
The Walking Dead Season 5 premieres in October on AMC.
