The zombie apocalypse is survival of the fittest. Even The Walking Dead characters who started out as wallflowers — like Carol Peletier (Melissa McBride) and Beth Greene (Emily Kinney) — are now kicking butt. You don’t have much of a choice. Season 5 is now filming, with a dozen people now stuck in a Terminus train car.
If we had to rank them by order of badassness, here’s our list:
Maybe your rankings would be different, but showrunner Scott Gimple addressed the weakest link issue during the summer episode of Talking Dead.
Who is the weakest person in that train car?
"Eugene is not necessarily the handiest and the fleetest of foot, nor is he great with weapons,” Scott admitted. “He kills trucks. So I guess, if we’re saying just survivorness I’d say Eugene probably.” Eugene is savvy, though, and we’re still thinking he killed that truck on purpose. Team Post-Prison is going to need some strategic brainpower to get out of that train car, so this may be Eugene’s big time to shine.
During the "Dead, White & Blue" marathon, Lauren Cohan (Maggie Greene) gave Chris Hardwick a little teaser on the Terminus escape: "You know basically that it's do or die right now. We've just been thrown in a train car by a bunch of ne'er do wells. The group has to be so resourceful and so brutal to get out of this situation. You get to see members of the group that didn't even know they were badass get to be badass."
It would be good for Eugene to have a bit of a hero moment. Same for Tara, though. She probably wouldn’t consider herself a badass, but she’s paid whatever debt she had to pay for her part in The Governor’s prison battle. It would be nice to see her shine. And Rosita — we haven’t seen her history yet, but she and Abraham fought to keep Eugene safe from Texas to Georgia, so we’re going to have to assume she’s badass and not just eye candy.
How would you rank the dirty dozen, from most badass to least?
The Walking Dead Season 5 premieres in October on AMC.
