One fan asked if it was even Chandler in the poster, writing “it didn’t look like you.” We thought it might just represent a slightly older, tougher Carl, but Chandler agreed with the questioner, replying, “ik thats what i was thinking, but yes it is me lol.”
Another fan seemed to think everyone but Rick had handcuffs on, even though it looks like Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) does have a chain between his hands, you just can’t see the cuffs through his jacket. Chandler just wrote, “he did during the photoshoot, they probably just had to crop it out or something.” (It’s cool that they did a special photoshoot for this. That must’ve been fun for the cast.)
Some TWD fans wondered about the characters not shown in the poster. One fan asked why Carol Peletier (Melissa McBride), Tyreese (Chad Coleman) and baby Judith weren’t included. Chandler wrote, “because at the end of s4 they werent at terminus yet, and it was supposed to be in the traincar.” True, and that’s the same for Beth Greene (Emily Kinney), but there are 12 people stuck in the train car and only these seven characters were singled out for poster treatment. Do you think that’s something we should read into, as a sign about the other characters’ fates, or is that pushing it?
The Walking Dead will hold its San Diego Comic-Con panel this Friday, July 25 and a bunch of cast and crew members will talk about the new season. Chandler was not on the panel list, but a fan asked if he’s planning to go. He said, “i hope so,” so that’s a good sign.
What do you think of the Season 5 poster/banner? Are you looking forward to seeing the first Season 5 trailer this Friday?
The Walking Dead Season 5 premieres in October on AMC.
