It’s time for another round of Spot The New Footage!
The Walking Dead Season 5 Comic-Con trailer gave us a ton of intel, even if The Powers That Be said it didn’t really spoil too much and we can’t take it verbatim. Since then, AMC has been sharing mini teases, re-editing pieces of the longer trailer in smaller promo packages.
Here’s a new one, although this one does have a teensy bit of new footage — most notably with Michonne (Danai Gurira) looking like a protective lioness when it comes to her cub, Carl Grimes (Chandler Riggs). (Team Richonne!)
Other than that, we re-hear words from the Comic-Con trailer in new context, including Gareth (Andrew J. West) saying, “I just hope you understand we didn’t want to hurt you,” Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) saying, “I will kill you,” then Rick also saying, “No matter what anyone says, no matter what you think, you are not safe.”
In the longer promo, Rick seems to give that "you are not safe" speech to Carl. We actually see his mouth say the final words to his son, which is the only sure way to know who is really saying what to whom, as opposed to spliced footage used in voice-over. This promo also singles out some stuff and thangs fans may have missed in the flurry of images from the Comic-Con trailer, including Tyreese (Chad Coleman) beating the crap out of someone, and it shows us a bit more inside that Terminus car.
Compare this new mini promo to the Comic-Con trailer below. More new footage, please!
The Walking Dead Season 5 premieres Sunday, October 12 at 9 p.m. ET on AMC.
