Al Bundy sometimes acted like a zombie, and maybe he can become a real one someday.

The Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman told E! News he's a huge fan of Modern Family and Married ... with Children star Ed O'Neill.

"I would just love to meet him. If I had to put him on The Walking Dead to do that, I totally would." However, Kirkman added that Ed is busy with Modern Family and he wouldn't want to "steal him away" so he hasn't even approached him for a Walking Dead role.

Ed might actually be good for something like a flashback to Rick Grimes' (Andrew Lincoln) past, if they ever do that kind of thing again on the AMC show. They have shown little pieces of Rick's and Lori's lives before the zombie apocalypse and Ed could probably pass as Rick's father. Or they could cast him as someone else in the series. Or just make him a particularly funny walker. Or leave him out completely! Maybe they should actually cast Ed's Modern Family co-star Ty Burrell, since he has zombie film experience from Dawn of the Dead.

Kirkman said they don't plan to do stunt casting, thankfully, but this would be more a matter of finding the right role for a cool actor. On that note, we're also pretty fond of the suggestion, in the E! story comments, to cast Bruce Campbell for a nice horror genre crossover. Do it!
