Cast your mind back to The Walking Dead Season 1.
Long before Rick (Andrew Lincoln) was the widowed Ricktator, he was presumed dead, left in the hospital as the nation fell to the walkers. He managed to shuffle his way over to the lawn of Morgan (Lennie James) and his son, Duane (Adrian Kali Turner). They took Rick in and healed him, then said goodbye when Rick went off to Atlanta, where he met Glenn (Steven Yeun) and what would eventually become the prison group. Rick kept trying to communicate with Morgan, via walkie-talkie, on Season 2. He hasn't done any of that on Season 3 yet, although he's had hallucination phone calls with plenty of other folks. But don't feel bad for Morgan, 'cause he's coming back!
According to TV Overmind, actor Lennie James is returning to the show on Season 3. Their sources say Morgan appears "From a Distance" and not in the middle of whatever action goes down between Rick and The Governor (David Morrissey). As TV Overmind put it, "He's been a wild card on radio silence, no pun intended, for too long now. Just a check in on the way to him rejoining the cast in Season 4 or 5 would be geektacular. I'm guessing by the time he shows up his sniper skills will come in handy.”
Morgan may have mad shooting skills but, if you remember, he struggled with the idea of shooting his zombie wife. She was a walker wandering around outside his house, and she kept returning home as if she knew Morgan and their son were inside. That kind of personal connection to a walker/biter/zombie's past is exactly the kind of thing Milton and The Governor are trying to understand on Season 3. Do you think Morgan will have anything to add to that, or is that just a coincidence?
Anyway, it's about time Morgan returned, and hopefully he'll do so with Duane. Carl could use a living friend close to his own age.
