SPOILERS AHEAD! Stop reading if you don’t want details on The Walking Dead Season 3.

Damn telemarketers! They can find you anywhere. At the end of The Walking Dead Season 3, Episode 5, "Say the Word," Rick (Andrew Lincoln) went on a zombie killing spree — and then a phone started to ring in the prison room where Lori had died on Episode 4.

Who was on the phone?

Well, there was a brief mention of this phone storyline in the original Walking Dead comics. As a Spoil the Dead moderator noted, "After Lori dies in the comics (at the prison), Rick and Carl spur out and they find safety in an abandoned house, where he has hallucinations of phone calls from some woman in a community that is safe and they're trying to get him to come there. He eventually figures out it's a hallucination and more or less tells Lori she's not real...”

Spoil the Dead also shared some early (unconfirmed) spoilers for next Sunday’s Episode 6, “Hounded”: "Starting from the previous episode,Rick talks to the phone to the woman who tells him that she is on a safe place away from the zombies. He asks her where exactly she is but she doesn't tell him and ends the conversation. Later, a man rings and Rick tells him that he is with a group and that he has a son and a new-born, and also that his wife died. The man asks him how did she die but Rick doesn't want to answer after which the man cuts the conversation."

The woman could be Lori, if this is happening in Rick’s mind. He’s hallucinating all over the place. The man could be Morgan, the father who helped Rick back on Season 1. Rick had been trying to contact him via walkie-talkie but apparently he gave up that game. We may actually see Morgan again this season. According to the same spoiler site, Morgan was seen on set for Episode 12...

What do you think? The TV show doesn’t always follow the comics, so maybe they will do a twist on this storyline. Do you think the caller is in Rick’s mind or does this prison phone somehow work (!) and there is an actual person on the other end of the line?

UPDATE: According to updated spoilers from Spoil the Dead, Rick gets three phone calls that are just hallucinations from his grief. They are all from departed cast members. The first call is from Amy (Andrea's sister) and the second is from Jim (who also died on Season 1). The third call is from Lori, who tells Rick that she loves him and that he needs to move on.
