The Walking Dead returns from hiatus this Sunday, but apparently Lauren Cohan (Maggie Greene) is already in need of a little change from her gruesome duties as a zombie-slayer. The actress is lending her voice to the upcoming season of Archer on FX as a European socialite married to a brutal Central American dictator, played by Fred Armisen of Portlandia and Saturday Night Live. The episode, "White Elephant," will air Sunday, March 30.
Archer, for the uninitiated, follows a rag-tag band of high-powered secret agents... or at least, it used to, before they got shut down by the FBI. Now Archer is about a sloppy band of former secret agents trying to unload a whole bunch of drugs while dodging the FBI. The titular character, playboy Sterling Archer, is voiced by H. Jon Benjamin (Dr. Katz, Home Movies).
Rumor has it that Lauren's character takes a liking to Archer... and the First Lady gets whatever she wants.
“It was really fun and a really good comedy break from the usual. It’s maybe the most fun I’ve ever had," Lauren told Entertainment Weekly of the gig.
We're glad she had a good time, but we really hope that Maggie never leaves us!
