The Walking Dead’s Michael Cudlitz Spoiled a Show Death — Or Did He?

The cast of The Walking Dead has been hard at work on Season 6 for several weeks now, and as happens every year when the cast is in production, fans parse over their social media accounts very carefully in the hopes of getting clues about which characters will (or more importantly won’t) survive the season.

Michael Cudlitz (Abraham Ford) may have had a little slip-up late last month when he tweeted at his TWD co-star Josh McDermitt (Eugene Porter), “I had a blast working with you.” Obviously since Michael used the past tense the implication is that he is no longer working with Josh (hello, death!) and this possible revelation has the TWD fandom in a total tizzy.

Not surprisingly, Michael has since deleted the buzzed-about tweet, which was actually in response to a tweet that Josh initially sent out stating that he hasn’t been on the TWD set much because he’s currently shooting a movie called Middle Man with TWD alum Andrew J. West (Gareth).

It’s quite possible that the fandom is reading way too much into this — Michael also could have meant that he enjoyed working with Josh and will continue to enjoy it in the future since his character actually isn’t a walker — but we’ll just have to wait and see what happens when Season 6 kicks off this October.

Luckily, Michael has kept his sense of humor throughout this entire ordeal. He tweeted the following message on June 4:

What does he mean? We don’t know, but we’ll find out soon enough!

The Walking Dead Season 6 premieres this fall on AMC.
