The Walking Snubbed: Norman Reedus Tweets Thumbs Down After 2014 Emmy Nominations

Sit on it, Emmys!

The 2014 Emmy nominations were revealed this morning and it's not hard to decipher how The Walking Dead star Norman Reedus (Daryl Dixon) feels about the result.

Once again, TWD was overlooked in all acting categories, as well as for Outstanding Drama Series, despite AMC creating a wonderful campaign called "Something Human" to gently remind Emmy voters that TWD is a heartfelt drama and not just a genre show about zombies. Didn't work. The Emmys did what they always do, and only honored TWD in two technical categories. (We didn't even get a makeup nomination this year. Way harsh.)

TWD was particularly strong in Season 4, so we were hoping/expecting a little bit more from the Emmys. Here's Norman's response, posted without caption:

Sigh. Yep. Nothing for Norman, who had such a great showcase, especially in the second half. Nothing for Melissa McBride, who had a fantastic showcase as Carol Peletier, especially in “The Grove.” Nothing for The Ricktator himself, Andrew Lincoln. Nothing for Scott Wilson, aka Hershel. No nods for the show as a drama series. Nothing for writing or directing episodes. Just this.

If only the Emmys were a cabin so we could set them on fire and flip them off, ala Beth and Daryl.

Maybe next year they'll get it right ... but probably not.

The Walking Dead Season 5 premieres in October on AMC.
