On October 22, Team Adam Levine Samoan singer Barry Black and rock singer Preston Pohl belted out a duet to the classic song “I Wish It Would Rain” by The Temptations. Adam chose the song for the two as he felt both men had tons of soul. During their first rehearsal, Barry was told that he pushing himself too much to make the song work, while Preston was told to control his rasp. At their last rehearsal, the two soul singers were able to impress both Adam and mentor Ryan Tedder.

Taking the stage, Preston and Barry sang the R&B classic like the stars that they are.

Coach Blake Shelton complimented Barry and told him that there was nothing wrong about him. Christina Aguilera was impressed by both performers, and told Preston that he had the kind of voice that a person could never buy with lessons. Cee Lo loved both men’s unique sound, but compared Preston to Temptations singer, David Ruffin.

Adam thought both guys did a great job, with Barry not being afraid to do his flugelhorn and allow himself to be different. However, when it was time to choose a winner, Adam went with Preston.
