American Idol

Watch Jade Lathan Sing “You Know I’m No Good” in American Idol 2014, Detroit Auditions

We’ve reached the second week of American Idol and if last week's premiere was any indication, we're in for a phenomenal season! The show is already proving to be different from seasons past, as we’ve said goodbye to the judges’ squabbles and hello to Harry Connick, Jr! (Seriously, can that guy can’t get any more adorable? We don’t thinks so.)

Of course, the one thing that hasn’t changed are the numerous rounds of auditions. January 22’s episode finds the judges headed to Detroit in hopes of tracking down the country’s next big superstar.

It’s here where Keith Urban, Jennifer Lopez, and Harry Connick Jr. meet 20-year-old Jade Lathan. She’s got a bit of a flower child vibe going on, but also a short hair/leather jacket edge that’s clearly interesting to the judges. She busts out a unique rendition of “You Know I’m No Good” by Amy Winehouse, which is undeniably cool.

“I don’t want to patronize you, but you’re absolutely adorable,” says HCJ. “You’re really fun to watch and when you walked in, I was really hoping to like you. You just look fresh and sweet and nice, and you did some things that I didn’t expect.”

“Very cool,” adds Keith. “Absolutely yes!”

What do you think of Jade’s performance? Will she make it to the Top 31? Read our spoilers here!
