On April 8, Team Blake Shelton indie singer Madilyn Paige gave a rousing performance of “Clarity” by Zedd. Madilyn chose the song as she would be able to get into some of the softer sounds that she’s more comfortable with, as well as belt the bigger notes that she’s definitely has the ability conquer.

Taking the stage with the popular dance track, Madilyn was told by her former coach Usher that he’s more aware of what she’s capable of thanks to Blake’s guidance. Shakira told that Madilyn did a good job of performing a very tough song. She noted that Madilyn knew to be understated in the verses and dynamic choruses, however, there were some pocket issues that she did push through. Ultimately, Shak thought that Madilyn’s tone and timbre is what makes her unique and that she need not let go of that.

Adam Levine told the Madilyn that she did do a good job of the difficult song, however, his biggest critique of her would be that she needs to learn to let go, be a little less timid, and get lost in the song.

Blake couldn’t be more confident and proud of coaching her and told her that it would be a hard decision for him to make at the end of the night.
