Watch Majesty Rose Sing “Fix You” in American Idol 2014 Top 12 — March 5, 2014

It’s hard to believe that American Idol started almost two months ago, but here we are watching the Top 12 compete for the country’s votes! The producers of the show have decided to stick with their decision to embrace some broader themes this year, which means the contestants won’t be stuck with narrow topics like Motown or Billy Joel.

Tonight’s episode (March 5) is sure to bring some serious competition, as the contestants sing songs that remind themselves of “Home.” Though we’ve gotten to know the remaining contestants fairly well over the last few weeks, the personal theme promises to reveal more intimate sides of them than we’ve seen before.

Last to take the stage is Majesty Rose York, the 21-year-old cutie from Goldsboro, North Carolina. After wowing the judges with her high energy rendition of “Tightrope” last week, Majesty just hopes that she keep finding new ways to impress them. She decides to take on “Fix You” by Coldplay, but the judges can’t help but point out a few missteps along the way.

“I really enjoyed the beginning,” says Harry. “But I wish you had stayed in that quiet zone. It kind of threw me off.”

“You don’t always have to go for the big thing,” adds J.Lo. “Where you had us was great and then you tried to do something and it didn’t quite work out.”

Thankfully, Keith sums it up by saying what we all know to be true. “I’d be repeating what they’re saying, but I know one thing. We’re gonna see you next week.”

Do you think Majesty deserves to make it to the Top 11? Sound off in the comments!
