First Listen: Robin Thicke’s “Blurred Lines” in Glee Episode 5 “The End of Twerk”

Strap on that black and white pinstripe blazer. Tie up your best mini-pigtails. Glee is about to recreate Robin Thicke and Miley Cyrus’s VMAs performance of “Blurred Lines.” Seriously, are you ready for this?

Fox has released the first-listen audio for all five songs from November 14’s Glee Season 5, Episode 5: “The End of Twerk.” With a Miley-inspired title like that, it should be no surprise that “Blurred Lines” — and its now-infamous Robin/Miley performance from the 2013 VMAs — is one of the songs included.

Based on photos we’ve seen from the episode, it appears that Glee stopped short of getting a nude jumpsuit and recreating all those awkward Miley grinding moments. But the New Directions all seem to be twerking in the auditorium throughout the performance, and the McKinley High Cheerios looked to have joined them!

Lead vocals on this song go to Artie (Kevin McHale) — remember his deep, smooth rap voice circa Season 1? Yeah, it’s back — his GF, Kitty (Becca Tobin), Schue [uh... okay?] and, gulp, Jake (Jacob Artist) and his wiley new paramore Bree (Erinn Westbrook).

Ugh. Something tells us that that Jake-Bree hookup last episode was not just a one time thing. Kick him to the curb, Marley (Melissa Benoist)! The sooner the better. You deserve a guy so much better than Jake!
