On March 3, Texas singer Sam Behymer took The Voice stage to give a rousing performance of Lorde’s Grammy award-winning hit, “Royals.” The Voice hopeful really needed to get a chair turn, as her family isn’t entirely confident that she could make a good living as a singer. Before taking the stage, Sam tearfully talked about the possibility of giving up her musical career to become a librarian. She'll have to put that on the back burner for now, though, because the Texas nanny received an almost-instant chair turn from coach Adam Levine. Moments later, coach Usher pushed his button for the singer.

Adam addressed Sam as a “breath of fresh air,” adding that she had several kinks to work out, and he’d be more than willing to help her work through them. Usher, on the other hand, described her sound as being pretty quirky and noted that he worked with Season 4 runner up, Michelle Chamuel, who also had a bit of that same edge. Adding to his already stellar pitch, Adam told Sam that she sounded like no one else, which is a huge compliment coming from him, and that he specializes in unique sounds. This final remark is what ultimately wins Sam over and she joins Team Adam.
