Did you know that The Walking Dead zombies are trained to lead with their shoulders? Walking with your hands out is so passé. Conan O'Brien dropped this wisdom last night during his special show to promote the return of TWD Season 4 this Sunday, February 9.
In a Saturday Night Live-worthy cold open, Conan played a walker himself, with makeup done by the great Greg Nicotero, who also leads a “Zombie School” before each new season of the AMC show. The awesome sketch (watch it below) shows zombie Conan in his suit, trying to shuffle through the zombie apocalypse and needing some map help from his phone. He finds his way into a rundown cabin, occupied by sidekick Andy Richter, who's shown rockin' out with his headphones on. Conan surprises Andy, who screams, then recovers.
Andy: "Oh my God, I'm so sorry. It's just I'm not used to seeing you without your makeup on."
Conan: "Do you think I need a little?"
Andy: "Um, you know what, you probably need a little more of something, just to even you out. I mean, it's HD. It's very unforgiving."
Conan: "I'm feeling dry."
Andy: "Oh, it's allergy season."
Love it! Watch the full video for more, including the great lunch Andy left for Conan, and the note someone left for poor Sophia. Very clever. Conan actually makes a pretty great zombie. He should put that on his resume.
The Walking Dead Season 4 returns with Episode 9 on Sunday, February 9 at 9 p.m. ET on AMC.
