Watch ZZ Ward’s Ezria-Inspired Video For “Last Love Song” (VIDEO)
Relive Ezria’s entire relationship from the first kiss to the last gunshot in ZZ Ward’s Pretty Little Liars-themed music video. The video is one one of two versions released for the singer’s “Last Love Song” and it’s chock full of footage recounting the roller coaster romance between Aria (Lucy Hale) and Ezra (Ian Harding). Check it out!
ABC Family is really pushing Ezria in the gear up for Pretty Little Liars Season 5. Not only have they released the entirety of the ZZ Ward video on their Facebook page, but they will start airing it on May 12, along with 30-second and 60-second spots using snippets from the video. If you needed anymore proof that Ezra is endgame, watch this music video. It’s like a hyped-up fanvid, but entirely official. This is one of the many reasons this show is so awesome.
The video does a good job of reminding us just how romantic the Ezria relationship can be — full of rainy day kisses and feels-filled gazes across the room. But it has a harder time selling Ezra’s subsequent reveal as a author-stalker as just another obstacle on the road to happily ever after. Sure, the song is suitably romantic with ZZ Ward’s sweet voice and bittersweet lyrics (the PLL footage is intercut with black-and-white shots of ZZ Ward from the other version of the video), but the PLL Powers That Be better not think they can erase Ezra’s sketchiness from our memories with one well-cut music video. We’re going to need more than that.
This is the second of ZZ Ward’s songs used as a promo for PLL. “Til the Casket Drops” was used in similarly-styled music video promotion for Season 3. Unlike “Last Love Song,” it had a much broader focus on all of the Liars and their respective relationships with their loved ones.
What do you think of the new music video? Do you prefer it to “Til the Casket Drops”? Sound off in the comments below!
