Wendy Williams’ Staffers Are Worried About Her Health After Fainting During Broadcast
Wendy Williams had quite the scare on Halloween.
The talk show host fainted during a live broadcast on Tuesday, October 31 and frightened both the audience and her staffers.
Though she’s OK, the people working around the 53-year-old are worried for her health.
It all happened while the TV personality was dressed as the Statue of Liberty, which included a wig and long-sleeve sparkly dress.
As she went to read the teleprompter, the mother of one began slurring her words and swaying back and forth before she eventually hit the ground.
Her crew ran over to help her and they immediately cut to commercial.
Thankfully, the show was able to return on air just 6 minutes later and Wendy explained what happened to the audience.
“That was not a stunt. I’m overheated in my costume and I did pass out,” she told the audience when she returned.
“But you know what, I’m a champ, and I’m back!”
A representative for Wendy also shared a message following the show, noting she would not be skipping Wednesday’s show.
“Wendy is feeling much better. She overheated because of her heavy costume, makeup, and lights,” the statement read to People.
“She was able to finish the show in true Wendy spirit. She will address the incident on tomorrow’s show.”
Though she seems to be doing OK, sources told Page Six her staffers are worried about her health, especially following those nasty reports her husband’s been cheating on her.
“Wendy has become very thin recently, and the show staff wonders if she is under a lot of personal stress,” a source shared.
However, Wendy seemed to laugh off those reports when she posted a note to her Twitter page on Tuesday afternoon.
“Everybody relax. I’m doing fine, just need some water and electrolytes,” she wrote.
“On another note, I slayed and laid Halloween, LOL! Shout out to my magnificent Glam Squad and Ceaser Galindo the costume designer. More on this tomorrow.”
