What Are the 10 Worst Supermarkets in the U.S.?

Like it or hate it, every mom spends a fraction of her life in the grocery store. But just like any other business, when it comes to supermarkets, some live up to their super status, but others don’t even deserve to be in the same superlative category.

Consumer Reports conducted a 2012 survey of more than 24,000 to determine the best and worst grocery stores out of 52 chains — and if you’re seasoned shoppers like us, you probably won’t be shocked by the results. The stores were rated on four categories: service, perishables (food quality), price, and cleanliness. So which stores ranked among the worst? Here’s a look at the bottom 10:

10. Ralph’s

9. Pick ‘n Save

8. Food Lion

7. Weis Markets

6. Tops Market

5. Jewel-Osco

4. A & P

3. Shaw’s

2. Walmart Supercenter

1. Pathmark

Now, you may be wondering which store ranked the highest. That distinction goes to Wegmans, which scored 88 out of 100.
