What Was it Like to Film the Purple Wedding on Game of Thrones?

Game of Thrones Season 4, Episode 2 featured one of the series’ biggest and most memorable scenes to date: the Purple Wedding, in which King Joffrey dies of poisoning shortly after saying his vows to Margaery Tyrell. Wondering what it was like to film that scene? Just ask Natalie Dormer, who portrays Margaery.

Proudly displaying her Hunger Games haircut during appearance on Late Night with Seth Meyers, Natalie says of the scene, “It was really fun to shoot, and we all got to be together, and we never get to all be together because there’s so many storylines and tangents, so to all be sitting together for a week, we had a lot of fun. A lot of Scrabble was played on iPads.” Hey, Scrabble on iPads, not a bad way to pass the time at a wedding!

Natalie goes on to describe the oppressive heat in Croatia, where the scene was filmed, and how it affected everyone’s Scrabble playing. “All us girls are sitting there, cause it’s so hot in Dubrovnik, in Croatia, in the Summer, so we’re all sitting with our skirts up around our necks playing Scrabble, it’s very glamorous.”

Sounds pretty glamorous to us! You can check out Natalie’s entire interview with Seth below.
