Get ready for your closeup. ABC has a new series in the works and it’s coming to a screen near you soon. Prepare yourself for the ultimate Selfie!
Despite the admittedly deceiving social-centric name, Selfie isn’t a Kim Kardashian-led tutorial on the best way to fish face for the camera. Instead, the comedy takes it cue from the classic musical My Fair Lady.
Before we get into all the details about Selfie, we just have to point out one of the main reasons we’re so excited for the new show. It’s part of Viggle’s #FinallyFall Premiere Challenge! When you check into four out of six shows included in the Challenge, you’ll receive 3K Viggle points, plus an automatic entry to win a free full season download of whichever show you want from the Viggle Store. Now, here’s what you need to know about the ABC show: Eliza Dooley (Karen Gillan of Doctor Who and, more recently Guardians of the Galaxy fame) has herself quite the social media following but lacks the personal etiquette to deal with her faux fame. Enter Henry (John Cho, whom you might recognize as Sulu from Star Trek Into Darkness). This poshly dressed mister takes it upon himself to school Eliza in how to deal with the real world with all the hilarious ups and downs you might expect.
ABC rolled out the pilot episode earlier this summer (you can watch it on the series’s official website) but the official premiere isn’t until Tuesday, September 30. That night tune in at 9 p.m. to see how My Fair Lady went from Broadway to #TheRainInSpain.
