It's official! Fox has announced the Season 13 finale dates. The two-part conclusion will be Tuesday, May 20, and Wednesday, May 21. Both installments will start at 8 p.m. sharp on Fox so clear your calendars. Tuesday's will go for one hour and we have a hunch the Wednesday night episode will be two to celebrate the winner's victory. Details to come as we get them!
Original story (January 2, 2014):
We’re only in the early stages of American Idol Season 13 (yes, it’s Season 13!), and you’re already wondering when the reality competition will finish? You’re not the only one! Our biggest hope is that the competition will be fierce this year and that it won’t come down to an obvious choice at the end, like it did last year between final two contestants Candice Glover and Kree Harrison.
Though Fox has not yet released an official finale date, we took a look at past seasons’ schedules and can make a solid estimate on the timeline. We are pretty sure we’ll see the chosen Top 2 (or could it be Top 3 this year?) duke it out sometime in the last two weeks of May 2014, which is about where the reality competition show ended over the past couple seasons.
Let’s not forget that May is a big month for TV in general. American Idol will be competing with a boatload of other TV show finales, including rival singing show The Voice, which will be heating up to finale a few weeks later in early June.
With the return of Jennifer Lopez and the arrival of new judge Harry Connick, Jr. — plus a ton of fresh talent — we’ll see if American Idol can beat The Voice in the ratings this season. Fingers crossed! Are you excited for the American Idol 2014 finale? Sound off with your speculations on the winner below!
American Idol Season 13 finale airs on Tuesday, May 20 and Wednesday, May 21, 2014 at 8 p.m. ET on Fox.
